Modi protecting the corrupt, alleges Team Anna leader

Targeting chief minister Narendra Modi for shielding a corrupt
cabinet minister, Arvind Kejriwal, a core member of Team Anna, said
Gujarat should follow Uttarakhand in appointing a Lokayukta in the
state.
Kejriwal said that the fact that Modi was supporting the corrupt
was established from the Gujarat high court order in case of state
fisheries minister Parsottam Solanki where the court has observed that
the state government had not given permission to prosecute Solanki.
“There is no agency in the state where one can lodge a complaint
against the corrupt minister,” he said addressing media persons in
Ahmedabad. Kejriwal said there was evidence against revenue minister
Anandiben Patel, who granted permission to an industrial house to sell
cheap government land to another industrial house. He stated that the
Lokayukta Act in the state was very weak and a strong legislation on
the lines of Uttarakhand was required to curb corruption.
