Urging people to forget casteism and religion in the upcoming Assembly elections, Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) president Keshubhai Patel on Wednesday asked them to keep only “Gujaratvad” in mind in the interest of a balanced growth of the state.
Addressing a public meeting during his Parivartan Yatra at Mahuva in coastal Bhavnagar district, the former chief minister said the December elections would be a historic opportunity for changing the political power in the state. “If you miss this opportunity, your future generations will suffer for ever.”
“The (Narendra) Modi government has been exploiting people for 12 years. This is the time to forget casteism and religion to throw out a government that exploits the people...,” the 84-year-old leader told the people.
“You need to forget things like 'this candidate is from my caste'. Don't think in terms of caste. Give top priority to Gujaratvad,” he said.
