Reacting to the state government’s advertisements in Gujarati language newspapers accusing the central policies of harming cotton farmers in the state, senior Congress leader and former Union textile minister Shankersinh Vaghela on Thursday dared Chief Minister Narendra Modi to give evidence if his government had spent even a single rupee for helping cotton farmers and taking any measures to promote cotton cultivation and production in the state.
Recounting several measures that he claimed the central government had taken for the benefit of cotton farmers, Vaghela said, “Modi only enjoys expertise in speaking lies and misguiding the people.”
