State Congress president Arjun Modhwadia on Monday said his party would organise demonstrations at all district headquarters in the state on September 27 and demand resignation of Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged involvement in Rs 400-crore fishing contract scam.
Alleging that Modi was directly responsible for the scam, Modhwadia said the CM should step down from his post till the completion of the probe into the case. He said contract worth Rs 400 crore could not have been cleared by any minister without the approval of CM and hence Modi was directly responsible for the scam.
The fishing contracts were given to 58 parties without inviting tenders and going through auctioning process.
Governor Kamla Beniwal had given her clearance for initiating action against Fisheries Minister Purushottam Solanki. Her decision was recently upheld by the High Court.
