Ahmedabad: Congress leaders fired another salvo at chief minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. The party leaders claimed Modi is jittery over the success and mass appeal achieved by Congress’ ‘Ghar nu Ghar’ announcements.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress president Arjun Modhwadia said that “Modi is so apprehensive of Congress now that he tried to deride our ‘Ghar-nu-Ghar’ project even at sports events, like the chess tournament which was inaugurated on Monday. This frantic reaction of Modi’s can be attributed to the fact that more than 50 lakh women have already put their faith in our project.”
Modhwadia said that even during the chess event, Modi chose to speak about the project. Modi attacked the project and called on the youth in particular to expose “certain people bent on misguiding and misleading Gujarat and deflecting it from the path of development.”
Modhwadia said the girls and sportsmen were surprised when they heard Modi speaking against the project.
He said that instead of providing low cost housing, Modi lathi-charged the women who went to collect forms at the Gujarat Housing Board office.
Senior Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela said that the advertisement aired by the BJP reflects their mentality. The advertisement slapping people shows their negative mentality. He also claimed that the BJP has not done any thing for the 15 farmers who killed themselves in the state because of the drought. He said the BJP has not done anything for common people of the state except for making announcements.
