Palanpur:
Chief minister Narendra Modi has announced a package of Rs 2380
crore for Sabarkantha district at his 24th Sadbhavana mission fast held at
Himmatnagar on Sunday.
The amount would be spent in the next one year towards setting up a
medical college, building a bypass from Idar to Himmatnagar, developing the
temple town of Shamalaji and the Buddhist centre Dev-Ni-Mori in the
district.
Modi listed out his government’s achievements and came down heavily on
the Union government for wasting billions of rupees on hopeless projects.
He asked the UPA Government headed by prime minister Manmohan Singh to
furnish a detailed account of them.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) organized a parallel
‘Satkarma’ fast at Motipura under the leadership of Madhusudan Mistry,
former MP. He and other Congress workers described Modi’s fast as misuse of
public money.
Meanwhile, 350 temporary employees of mid-day meal staged a protest
rally demanding that they be made permanent. At least 19 demonstrators were
detained but later set free, police said.
