Sir,
I have been a regular subscriber of your paper for the past several years. On the whole I find that most of the time it provides reasonably accurate news. However with deep anguish I feel compelled to draw your attention to a certain news item on page 9 in today's (28.05.2011) "Deccan Herald" (Mangalore Edition). The heading is "Court Refuses to quash Setalvad FIR". All I ask you, Sir, is to just compare this with the report that appeared in today's "The Hindu" (page 15, Mangalore edition) under the heading "Partial Relief for Setalvad". You will immediately notice the difference between the two reports. Not only that. In fact your correspondent paints a somewhat inaccurate and a partial picture, I think. I strongly feel that an explanation should be called for from whosoever sent this particular report. He needs to be more careful in future. What is involved here is an extremely crucial issue of bringing to justice all those who were responsible for mass killings and abdication of Constitutional responsibilities.
Please be kind enough to forward this to Mr.K.N.Tilak Kumar.
Yours truly,
Suresh Bhat Bakrabail
